    Friday Favorites | Vol. 5

It’s been a little while since I participated in Friday Favorites and I love writing these so I’m back again today to share about my week(s). I think I may start doing this every Friday I just love them so much.

Shared this on Instagram yesterday too 🙂

I spent some extra time with God yesterday, coloring this out of my bible and journaling and it was so great. I bought this coloring Bible a few months ago but haven’t really taken the time to really sit down and color and soak up God’s word in that way. I usually just read 1-2 chapters and that’s all. I actually watched an Illustrated Faith video the day before which inspired me. I think eventually I want to step up my game and start doing Illustrated Faith too. Do you do Bible Journaling or Illustrated Faith at all? I’d love to chat about it. 🙂

Follow my Etsy Instagram to keep up with new products being made + keep your eye out for LAUNCH DAY.

I finished that blanket a few weeks ago for my Etsy shop and my husband and I are looooving it. It’s so soft and cozy. I can’t wait to make more and to sell it once my shop opens! (We’re getting closer!) A lot of my family has asked me to make one as well, which I just love. It brings me so much joy to be able to make things for people and for them to enjoy it. Do you crochet or make anything with your hands? It’s so therapeutic to me!

Don’t mind our squinty faces 😉

Tommy and I just celebrated our first married EASTER. It was a really great day, we went to our old church with my mom. (She still attends there.) It was a gorgeous day out. AND I hosted my first holiday in our little apartment! I literally cooked all day and I loved it. It was perfect timing too because we move out at the end of the month! It was a great way to say goodbye to our tiny apartment.

In order: my cousin Nichole, my mom, me, Tommy, my grandma, my grandpa, my brother’s girlfriend Rachael, and my brother Dylan

I shared a little bit about this in my Florida Vacation Recap but last Thursday we celebrated my grandparents 57th wedding anniversary!! We were in Florida visiting them, and Easter happened to be their 57th anniversary so we took them out before we made the drive home the next day. It was really special being there with them, especially since my grandma’s health hasn’t been the greatest in the last few years. If you wouldn’t mind saying a little prayer for her, I would greatly appreciate it!

We are doing a Bible Study on my blog starting in May and everyone voted and picked THIS book. I ordered it right when it was decided and just received the book this morning. I’ve flipped through it a little bit and I am SO excited to dive in! There’s still time to join in with us too! Check out this post for more information about it.

What have you been up to this week friends? I’d love to know. Linking up with these lovely ladies below.

Why Quitting My Corporate Job Was So Good For My Marriage + Bible Study Info

“While I was working at my Mortgage Servicing job, I was promoted to the supervisor position while still going to school full-time at night and online. It was a little tiring but I’ve always been an overachiever and loved to keep busy. I never really felt anxious or too stressed, I simply did what I had to do.

They both were great jobs and I enjoyed working at them and honestly, I was good at them as well! Up until I got married, then something in me shifted and I just couldn’t focus on work anymore. Instead I was so anxious most days I had such a hard time concentrating on working at all, which was weird for me because I was usually very good at handling stress and a lot of pressure.”

Click here to read the rest of the post!

Yesterday I was able to guest post on an awesome website and community called Young Wives Club. Above is just an excerpt from my post. I go into much more detail about why I quit my job and the effect it has had on my marriage. Can you relate? Do you feel more of a tug to be at home or do you love working outside the house? I’d love to chat about it!

    Bible Study Girls

It looks like Finding I AM – Bible Study Book: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart is the winner for our book! I am so excited!

    How It’s Going To Work:
-Be sure to get your books by May 3rd. The first post about Chapter 1 will go live on May 10th.

-I am going to be using my Facebook page to send out any updates, so please make sure to like and follow along there so you don’t miss a thing!

-If you want an email buddy, please contact me in some way, either by commenting here or emailing me. The email buddy will serve as a smaller place to process what you are learning. You can answer the questions together or just share how you are feeling about the study together.

-If you don’t want an email buddy and just want to join in on the study, that’s okay too! Every Wednesday, starting on May 10th, I am going to be posting about anything that I’ve learned or answering the questions at the end of each chapter. On May 10th, it will be about chapter 1. I’m going to include a linkup as well so that we all can join in together and have community.

-The study looks more than doable, even if you happen to be super busy. It has four days a week where you participate in the study, with an optional 5th day. So doable and awesome.

-You can buy the book here: Finding I AM – Bible Study Book: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart on Amazon, (affiliate link) or anywhere close to you that sells books, like a Barnes and Nobles! And it’s affordable, only about $15.

-If you don’t have a blog but want to join in with us, or do but want to share your experience on social media, use the hashtag #JesusSatisfiesUs. You can find me on Instagram at @ashleyzinhobl.

-I want this to be as encouraging as possible so there aren’t any rules or judgements on how much or how little you have read. Please feel free to join in even if you think you can only get to one out of the four days.

Please don’t forget to contact me if you want an email buddy! I am so excited about this and I have a feeling that this study is going to bring me a ton of healing, and hopefully to many of you as well!

    Online Bible Study Sign Up

Good morning friends 🙂 This weekend was a great one. Yesterday Tommy and I went to a marriage bible study at our new church and it was so awesome. We were so encouraged and finally felt like we fit in at church. We still have a long ways to go when it comes to making friends, but at least we know we’re on the right track!

    Online Bible Study

I wanted to share what has been on my heart for a little while now. I really would love to start a bible study or just walk through a book with some other girls. I was thinking of a book that had participation questions at the end of it like Entrusted – A Study of 2 Timothy By Beth Moore. I just wanted to see if anyone was interested before I started it. If this is something that you would like to participate in, please “sign up” below by commenting that you would like to participate in this.

I also want it to be an easy group to participate in. I will give everyone an email buddy that you can email back and forth together with, to hold you accountable, and just to have a friend to do a discussion with. Also, I will create a Facebook group for everyone so we can all chat together as well. 🙂

Within a week or so I’m also going to be posting a poll on my blog’s Facebook page where you can vote on which book you’d like to read with the group. We’ll read through the one that gets the most votes. Also, if you have any suggestions for the book, please let me know! 🙂 Make sure to follow my Facebook page so you don’t miss the poll! You can find that here.

    In Case You Missed It…

On Friday I posted twice (!) and shared a guest post from another site. So in case you missed that and are interested you can check that out here.

\\How was your weekend friends?! I’m so excited to hopefully start the bible study!

5 Ways I Practically Cast My Cares On God and Why It Works For Me

Hi friends! I promised I’d be back to share my guest post so here I am. I’m super excited about this one. I hope you all like it!

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. – Psalm 55:22

I’ve struggled with anxiety before I even knew what anxiety was. I’ve always been a worrier. The only thing that has changed as I’ve grown up and gotten married is what I worry about. When I was five, I worried about making friends. When I was eleven, I worried about my grades. When I was fifteen, I worried about what all of my peers thought about me. When I was nineteen, I worried that I wouldn’t find a husband to marry. And now that I’m twenty-five, I worry that this little family that God has blessed me with will be taken away from me, or something terrible will happen to one of us.

If You Ever Doubt If God Is In Control, Read This

Tommy and I switched churches back in January and the messages have been really blessing us each Sunday at our new church. I wanted to share with you what I learned this Sunday. It is something that has been helping with my anxiety, and helping me to trust God more. I hope it will be as encouraging for you.

    Luke 22:9-13

They said to him, “Where will you have us prepare it?” 10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters11 and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’12 And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare it there.”

13 And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

    A Little Bit Of Background

This is the scene right before the last supper. It seems small and insignificant honestly. It’s just Jesus telling his disciples to prepare the feast, and the amazing part is so small that it is so easily missed. If our pastor didn’t point this out to me this Sunday, I wouldn’t have really given it a second thought.

At this point in the story, Jesus and his disciples were traveling to Jerusalem for Passover and this supper specifically, so it doesn’t seem all that strange when he tells them to prepare it. I’m not sure what the regular customs would be, where they would normally celebrate, but look closely at how comical it is when Jesus tells them what to do.

    Jesus’s Instruction

He tells them “Go and prepare the feast”. And their response is so funny, “Where do we prepare it?”. I find it funny that Jesus doesn’t just tell them where to prepare it because they had just gotten to the city, and he knew that they didn’t know but he waits for them to ask.

But his response is so astounding. He tells them exactly where to find the man whose house they will be staying at and exactly what to say to him.

Jesus Shows He Is Always In Control

The details of what Jesus tells them is what shows his sovereignty over the whole situation, even up until his own crucifixion. He tells Peter and John that a man will be holding a jar of water, which our pastor told us is not common during this time in history; it would normally have been a woman getting water. I love how he tells them that the room will be furnished as well. It’s such a small detail, but it just shows how in control Jesus really is. And the best line in the whole passage? “They left and found things just as Jesus had told them.” Of course they did, but I wonder if they ever stopped and paused and just laughed at how cool it was to be so close to someone who knew literally everything.

    Why This Is So Comforting

In the rest of the chapter, Jesus also goes on to say and do things that shows his sovereignty over everything that happens until his death. They’re easy to miss, but they are huge when you notice them. He also asks Judas why he is betraying him with a kiss, even before everyone else knows what is going on.

This is so comforting to me because if he was in control and knew what was going on during the worst thing that has ever happened, then he is always in control and knows what is going on with me, even when I don’t understand it. It shows that things are never as bad as they seem because Jesus is in control. This helps to ease my anxieties because it shows me that I can trust my Savior. You can find the full sermon here that I am recapping, it goes into much more detail.

\\How does this make you feel? Does it help you with trusting God like it does for me?

    Friday Favorites | Vol. 3

Happy St. Patty’s Day! Do you usually celebrate today? I don’t think I ever have before. Today I decided to pick back up and share a Friday Favorites post. I was planning on writing one last week but didn’t have such a great week and decided to do a Friday Introductions post instead and share a little bit about myself. Check that out here if you missed it! 🙂 (oh P.S. I, for some strange reason, decided to wake up at 4:30 am when my husband got up, after going to bed at 1 am, and am attempting to function like a normal human being, so please forgive me for any errors that may result because of this. 😉 )

I started working on a baby girl blanket for my Etsy shop and am loving how it’s turning out! I wish crocheting wasn’t so time-consuming sometimes so that I can open my shop up sooner! For those of you who don’t know, I’m planning on opening an Etsy shop sometime within the next couple of months. I plan to sell blankets, home decor, and baby items. I’m very excited, but I never would have imagined how much work it is!

I revamped my site, along with my Facebook page, and am absolutely loving how it came out! I feel like this layout is much more pulled together and clean, and I feel like it better represents my blog and who I am. What’d you think? Also, I’d love to hear your suggestions for essential plugins. I’m always looking to learn more and I’m finding that the best way to do that is with friends. 🙂

This post located here, if you’re interested. 🙂

Ever since I wrote and shared Facing My Biggest Fear, I have had such a different outlook on life. That sounds so cliché I know, but after I was able to stop worrying about my health, I just felt so much more alive. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10. The closer I walk with God the more this becomes real to me. Every time I lay a struggle down at Jesus’s feet and allow him to heal me of it, I am amazed at how differently I view my life. It’s never easy but it’s always worth it.

I put out all of our Spring decor this week (even though there’s so. much. snow. outside), and I’m just loving the refresh it gave our little apartment. I’m loving even more that 90% of it is from our wedding decor and it reminds me of when we just got married. We’re planning on moving out when our lease is up next month and I am just not ready to say goodbye to our first apartment together. 🙁

I’m only very new to learning about essential oils and all of the health benefits to them but I, of course had to add them to my Friday Favorites. This blend in particular is my absolute fav. I unfortunately am waiting on more lemon and lavender (because they are both so low), and have not been able to diffuse this in a while, but I’m really missing it. Do you use essential oils? What are your favorites? I’d really love to know!

Today I’m linking up with these wonderful ladies! Come join us! 🙂
